I AM MORBID

United States
  • Day 2

After the resounding concert by Triumph Of Death at last year's edition, SWR is once again giving one of the prime spots on its line-up to an iconic era in the heavy metal underworld. It was in 2017 that David Vincent and Tim Yeung formed I AM MORBID, a tribute project to death metal legends Morbid Angel (for those who are not aware). A couple of years ago, Pete "Commando" Sandoval, the band's iconic founding drummer, took Yeung's place and the focus of the concerts broadened from the old "Altars of Madness" and "Blessed Are the Sick" albums to the pestilential groove of "Covenant" and "Domination". With two thirds of the original line-up on stage, the only bad news about the whole thing, frankly, will be the absence of Trey Azagthoth's divebombs. Still, Bill Hudson may not be the best death metal guitarist ever, but he's a shredder by the book. Seeing is believing, but expect nothing less than one of the best concerts ever staged on the sacred soil of Barroselas.
