AHAB

Germany
  • Day 1

When doom metal becomes truly abyssal, the name that resonates in the depths is AHAB. Nautical masters of funeral doom, the Germans have dedicated themselves since 2004 to building relentless sonic waves, where crushing riffs and funereal melodies intertwine in voyages of exploration and doom. If ‘The Call of the Wretched Sea’ (2006) was already an undeniable landmark of the genre, albums like ‘The Giant’ (2012) and ‘The Boats of the Glen Carrig’ (2015) have consolidated the band as one of the forces in the deepest pit of contemporary doom. The latest ‘The Coral Tombs’ (2023) proves that the immensity of the sea still hides deep terrors yet to be unravelled. In SWR, there will be no salvation - only sinking.
