Hailing from Porto, ANZV have been forging a singular identity at the intersection of death and black metal, grounded in a strongly atmospheric and evocative aesthetic. Their debut album, “Gallas” (2022), introduced a proposal already cohesive and fully aware of its identity, laying the foundations for a sound that is simultaneously heavy and immersive. In 2025, their second full-length, “KUR”, significantly expanded this language, revealing greater compositional maturity and a more confident and implacable approach, where sonic density and atmospheric construction assume a central role. Increasingly commanding, magnetic and seasoned on stage, ANZV continue to affirm a consistent presence and a distinct identity, with their performance at SWR 26 marking the consolidation of one of the most solid and coherent forces in the contemporary Portuguese extreme metal scene.
