BULLDOZER

Italy

Throughout the years, we have collected several pioneering legends at SWR (just look at the collection of cardboard cutouts at SWR Cafe!), and in 2026 we will add one more. BULLDOZER are, as a band, older than many of the participants at the festival (1980), and they are also as old-school as you can get. Italy didn’t have many contributions in that first wave of extreme metal in the ‘80s, but these guys make up the numbers all by themselves with their filthy mix of speed, thrash and black metal, with the added bonus of having done it when most of those terms weren’t even fully defined. Raw, fast and irreverent, the Bulldozer sound has always been a result of aggression as much as attitude. Forever engraved in the pantheon of the greats with cult albums such as “The Day of Wrath” or “The Final Separation”, their career after that primordial decade has been somewhat irregular, with several periods of inactivity, but nobody can accuse them of ever having compromised anything. There’s no complications here – in Barroselas, everyone will twirl their capes while that old loud noise is coming from the stage at maximum volume.
