COBRAFUMA is a cast of proto-veterans from Porto who heard cobra's call between slick shopping centres and sticky-floored bars and even in the muddy soil of Barroselas. Bringing together members of bands such as Plus Ultra, Greengo, Solar Corona and Killimanjaro and feeding them a diet of Motörhead and primordial thrash metal steroids, this is how the eponymous debut album arrived in 2023, with a sound as hard as steel and full of punk, thrash and rock 'n' roll venom, hissed in Português Suave smoke and well washed down with unlabelled brandy. There's not much else to describe an album that's simple, fast and to the point at all times. The authenticity and viscerality of the emotions it conveys will be easily palpable on the SWR stage.
