Sometimes, bands really have a clear image of the music they make, and their self-descriptions are the absolute best. We can spend days coming up with elaborate words to try to explain the appeal of CONCRETE WINDS, but the tag they’ve had since the beginning, “aggressive noise torment”, really is 100% accurate. That is exactly what we already know, after three albums, that we will suffer through every time we listen to the Finnish duo, born out of the ashes of Vorum. “Normal” genre names are clearly not enough to describe the apotheotic chaos that is unleashed by the short and rude songs on records such as last year’s self-titled – raw and unhinged death metal, savage grind, shattered pieces of black metal a thrash cutting through everything in there… it’s all of that. Many times the “extreme music” epithet is used lightly, but not here, here it couldn’t be more precise. As extreme as it gets!
