Hailing from Santo Tirso, HUMANART are another reputed veteran of Portuguese black metal. They've been following the genre's more traditional black veins since 1998, and their discography includes the EPs ‘Fossil’ (2000) and ‘Hymn Obscura’ (2004) and the LPs ‘Lightbringer’ (2014) and ‘(Further) Into the Depths’. The melodic dimension of their most recent work is poignantly epic, opening up flashes of Luciferian light over the frequent barrages of blast beats. Humanart's dynamism and aggression reveal a group of musicians who are perfectly aware of their strengths and capable of exalting them on disc and, as their qualification for the final of the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle 2025 proves, on stage.
