INVUNCHE bring raw, punked up, aggressive black metal with no room to breathe. Taking their name from a mythological creature in Chilean folklore – as those are the origins of Martin “El Invunche” Valenzuela, the project’s sole permanent member –, they channel chaos, violence and a Shamanist atmosphere into a sound that’s feral, intense and confrontational from start to finish. As it usually happens with one-man projects turned into live bands, Invunche keep things moving as fast and as hostile as possible, but crucially in this case, never sloppy. There’s a strong sense of identity here, mixing traditional black metal aggression with darker, more unhinged edges, more genuine we would even say, that make the songs feel dangerous and unpredictable. Live, Invunche go straight for the throat without losing the folklore vibe. No pauses, no relief, just pressure and total commitment.
