IRON CURTAIN

Spain
  • Day 2

Forged on the Mediterranean slopes of Murcia in 2007, IRON CURTAIN have become one of the most faithful — and least ironic — expressions of ’80s-rooted thrash/speed metal, free from boutique revivalism or complacent post-modern winks. Their sound draws directly from the Teutonic school (Kreator, Sodom, Destruction), but also from the more metallic and belligerent strain of speed metal embodied by Motörhead, Exciter and early Running Wild. Everything is fast, direct and aggressive, driven by cutting riffs and a permanently bellicose attitude. The band’s discography is both extensive and remarkably consistent. Key highlights include "Road To Hell" (2012) and "Guilty As Charged" (2016), but two more recent releases place Iron Curtain squarely on the collision course that leads to SWR Barroselas Metalfest. In 2024, they released "Savage Dawn", a record that asserts the band’s maturity without sacrificing any of their youthful instincts for impact. Then, in 2025, came the EP "Obsidio Celeritas Interitus": four new tracks of immediate force and vertiginous speed.
