They are already a legendary name in the Portuguese scene – a conversation about Portuguese thrash metal inevitably will lead to a mention of PITCH BLACK. The veteran war machine celebrates its 30th year of existence (!) in 2025. Though initially called Withering, they nevertheless showed even then all the ingredients that would lead to the devastation of countless stages, all across the country. Even if they’ve never been the most discographically fertile band (“Thrash Killing Machine” (2005) and “Hate Division” (2009) remain the only full-length releases, having been recently reissued), Pitch Black have reinforced year after year, or even generation after generation, it could be said, as one of the most lethal live acts in Portugal. In Barroselas, they will prove it once more, especially in a year of a special anniversary.
