Established in 2008 by multi-instrumentalist Bellerophon, SONNEILLON have a discography well filled with Eps and splits, as the black metal tradition dictates. Over the course of a decade and a half, they have defined terrifying black metal with haunting harmonies, relentless riffs and demolishing drums. Between shadows and ferocity, there are occasional moments of melody and grandeur. Sonneillon's intriguing compositions, deft drumming and occasional exploration of eclectic sounds all contribute to the dynamic character of their music. The raw but clear production emphasises the interplay between heavy riffs and explosive drums on the one hand and harmonies of some magnitude on the other. All this is emphasised more than ever on their recent second LP, "The Demon Of Hate" (2023).
