TEST

Brazil
  • Day 3

They’ve come a long way since João Kombi and Barata set up shop outside São Paulo’s biggest metal shows, with a generator in a van (a VW Kombi, hence the frontman’s nickname), and just let loose with their frenetic grindcore for anyone who would listen. Turns out a lot of people wanted to listen to them, so much that Test quickly became a “serious” band, ie, those that play inside the venues, in the company of all-time greats such as King Diamond, Mayhem, Carcass or Cannibal Corpse among many others. A band in perpetual movement, whose travels have taken them almost everywhere, SWR included, where they already have some legendary performances in the memory back, not only on stage but also in the bar or at the football pitch, proving they maintain their DIY spirit intact and also their savagely free attitude towards their music. That is also reflected on their original grindcore, whose tentacles have greatly spread over to other experimental horizons, but always with the intensity in the red. With confessed famous fans such as Shane Embury or Igor Cavalera, they are still in ebullient activity, and they now prepare to etch another SWR onto their curriculum.
