Faceless, yet endowed with tremendous character, THE OMINOUS CIRCLE have established themselves as one of the most solid and consistent forces within the darkest reaches of Iberian metal, operating in a territory where death and black metal intertwine in a dense, ritualistic and brutal language. The band builds its identity upon sinuous riffs, controlled dissonance and an approach that privileges tension, immersion and a constant sense of threat, closer to a process of invocation than to mere sonic aggression. Their debut album, “Appalling Ascension” (2017), revealed a band already fully formed, capable of merging brutality and compositional sophistication into a cohesive and oppressive statement. Their return in 2025 with “Cloven Tongues of Fire” definitively confirmed this ascending trajectory, presenting a more mature, organic and implacable sound, where atmospheric density and structural precision converge into a uniform and deeply menacing whole.
