UNDERSAVE, a quartet based on the crossing of the parishes of Lisbon and Loures, have been active since the mid-2000s and became a solid example of technical and contemporary death metal in Portugal, combining brutality with structural complexity and attention to instrumental detail. The band constructs its compositions from intricate riffs, dense bass lines, dissonances, and precise drumming, varying tempos and dynamics to create tension and density in a sound that is simultaneously meticulous and crushing. In 2025 they released “Merged In Abstract Perdition” via Transcending Obscurity Records, the promising independent label from India and there is little doubt that Undersave have established themselves as a dominant force in the national scene.
