VIRCOLAC emerged in Dublin, Ireland, in the final stretch of 2013 with the intention of creating a timeless approach to death metal full of real songs, riffs and atmospheres, removed in their own right from some of the contemporary styles of extreme music that almost seek to prescribe the essence of the song. Steeped firmly in the death metal scenes of the 80s and subsequent early 90s, the band's influences are wide and varied, but on the colossal «Masque», 2019's debut album, they are never used simply as a reference barometer – they are, in fact, simple parts of the diabolical whole that perverted the collective minds of these people from a young age.
